Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering of Crystal Violet with Low Concentrations Using Self-Assembled Silver and Gold-Silver Core-Shell Nanoparticles
The active substrates in surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectroscopy were prepared through self-assembly of nanoparticles on functionalized glasses. Colloidal silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) were prepared chemically in two different sizes by reduction of AgNO3 using trisodium citrate and sodium borohydride. Gold–silver core–shell nanoparticles were also prepared to compare between the o...
متن کاملFabrication and evolution of multilayer silver nanofilms for surface-enhanced Raman scattering sensing of arsenate
Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) has recently been investigated extensively for chemical and biomolecular sensing. Multilayer silver (Ag) nanofilms deposited on glass slides by a simple electroless deposition process have been fabricated as active substrates (Ag/GL substrates) for arsenate SERS sensing. The nanostructures and layer characteristics of the multilayer Ag films could be tun...
متن کاملEffect of oxidation on surface-enhanced Raman scattering activity of silver nanoparticles: a quantitative correlation.
We quantitatively studied, using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), oxidation of substrate-immobilized silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) in a wide range of conditions, including exposure to ambient air and controlled ozone environment under UV irradiation, and we correlated the degree of silver oxidation with surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) enhancement factors (EFs). The SERS activity...
متن کاملSurface-enhanced Raman scattering behaviour of 4-mercaptophenyl boronic acid on assembled silver nanoparticles.
Molecular recognition based on specific intermolecular interactions is essential for the design of sensors with high selectivity. Herein, we report the surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) behaviour of 4-mercaptophenyl boronic acid (MPBA) on self-assembled silver nanoparticles and its interaction with d-glucose. It is demonstrated that the orientation and existing form of the MPBA strongly ...
متن کاملPositively charged silver nanoparticles and their effect on surface-enhanced Raman scattering of dye-labelled oligonucleotides.
Improved positively charged nanoparticles are described to provide a simplified SERS substrate for DNA detection. Complete flocculation of the nanoparticles is prevented due to the controlled analyte induced aggregation. This provides a stable aggregation state which significantly extends the analysis window simplifying DNA detection by SERS.
